Julie take the wheel ...(sing to the tune’Jesus take the wheel’)

Got a taxi with a friendly driver to the airport so that we could pick up a rental car. With Julie behind the wheel and Jill with the navigation we made our way out of the airport and towards Belfast. Julie did great. Even had a couple of roundabouts. We ended up having to get a small minivan like SUV that had three rows so that we could fit our luggage. On the highway roads it was not a problem. We’ll see if we were regret it when we get to the smaller narrower country roads. We made it to our hotel outside of Belfast in about two hours. It’s a small place but looked nice. We weren’t able to get our rooms so we just checked in and got the location of a parking garage in Belfast. Then we headed to Belfast. It was pretty much a straight shot after going through a couple roundabout. Took about 25-30 minutes to  to get there. We walked a bit to find the tourist office. Got a map so we could get oriented. And we were famished since we had not eaten since breakfast. We went into a shop and picked up sandwiches (onion and cheese for me) and chips and then enjoyed our lunch on a bench by City Hall. We had a little time to kill before the next tour at City Hall so we took a little walk. Then we had a guided tour through City Hall.. It was a short introduction to the building. Pretty opulent looking with three different types of marble including a gray marble from Greece. We got to see where the alderman’s and councilman are when they’re in session. We even got to sit in the Lord mayor’s seat! Then we headed to a beautiful Cathedral. It has two names. Belfast Cathedral of Saint Annes Cathedral. Beautiful Stainglass.  Wandered around until They started turning off the lights to get people to leave because it was evening song.  Before we headed bvl to the hotel we had dinner. I got fish and chips again and we shared some tasty desserts.
