The wifi at last hotel didn't extend to our room so no new posts but it will definitely be worth the wait! The pictures I have to post are from the the last 2 days. We left Split in the morning after we stopped at the grocery store to get meat, cheese, bread, fruit, juice and cookies for our group picnic (love them!). Julie and I are in charge of picking out the bread and juice :) Then we drove a few hours, had lunch and drove a bit more to our next stop-the Plitvice Lakes National Park in Croatia. Wowie, wow, wow. Our hotel was right in the national park so it was easy to get around. That afternoon we went for a hike. What an AMAZING display of God's good work. Every turn had another waterfall, lake or babbling water. Lots of ohhhs and ahhhs ( a few of the ohhs and ahhs were from the sometimes precarious walking on the wooden walkway w/no railings- sometimes it reminded me of those bridges at a kid's playground that goes up and down). My feet were quite exhausted from all the stairs and walking but it was well worth it. The next morning we took another hike through a different area. It's unbelievable to think there are so many lakes and waterfalls in one area (although the park is quite large- we only did a sliver of it to see the good stuff :) After our hike we had a 4 hour drive to our next stop of Ljubljana, Slovenia. Another picnic lunch on the way helped break up the long drive. We're staying quite a bit outside the center so we had to cab it down to have dinner. It's known as a "friendly place" (so said a golf cart that drove by). We'll see if I agree tomorrow :)
Sorry for the abundance of pictures. TOO HARD to choose :)
