Today was a fit bit record day folks!! 20,947 total steps, 9.03 miles and 59 flights of stairs. Wowsa!! Most that I've ever gotten. I have the sore feet (and hips and knees and ankles) to prove it! As I sit here and wait for the Advil to kick in, I'll give you the short version since I have a TON of photos from our 2 adventures (I know you're shocked). We took the cable car, cog wheel train, and then the funicular from Lauterbrunnen to Grutschalp to Murren to Allmenhubel. (I say all this so you will be impressed). From Allmenhubel we set off on a hike. The trail sign said it would take 1 1/2 hours. Rick Steves said it would take 2 hours. I believe he also said it was a light trail. We would wholeheartedly like to disagree with him. It took us 2 hours 45 minutes in part because of the steep decline in parts through tree roots and large rocks. Even the more traveled members in the group thought a few parts were more precarious than Rick had mentioned. All I know is that I could feel too many rocks through my soles when I stepped wrong. On the up side- we were going DOWN not up :) The rain stayed away (that would have been hellish). Also, the views were worth a million bucks. I had to remind myself to keep looking up so that I could take it all in (as I was required to look down when walking so as not to require a helicopter rescue). Breathtaking, amazing, stunning, I can't think of enough adjectives to describe the beauty!! A favorite for me, though it might sound lame to you, was the clinking of the cow bells. It makes such calming wonderful music as they meander through the fields to eat. For our second adventure we headed a short distance away to the Trummelbach Falls. It's a series of 10 glacier waterfalls inside a mountain. Holy Moly, folks! I've never seen anything like it! Words and even pictures cannot do it justice. They try, but they fall short. Way short. It was so forceful and fast and massive.......check it out here:

Ok so that wasn't too short but it will be compared to all the pictures I'm about to post!!! (You might want to get a snack to flip through the them). :)
First the flowers on the trail.....
Now for some other snapshots from our walk.....
Now for my favorite..... (Wish I could insert the cowbell clinking but can't figure out how to do that)
(Thanks to Jane Hyla for this beauty!!)
As if you haven't been bombarded with enough beauty...
As if my day wasn't good already.....the view across from the hotel
