2 breweries in 1 day...(for the non-drinker)

Started our day at the Detuche's Museum. It is all about science and technology.  Lots of interesting things to see and I tried not to be too annoyed with the school groups running around :). Then we headed to the Augustiner Brewery restaurant for lunch. Beautiful day so we sat outside and enjoyed the breeze under the umbrella.  The outside beer yard is GINORMOUS!!!! I think I would feel a little claustrophobic if I was there and it was full.  After that we headed to the palace and walked around.  Much (most) of it was bombed and destroyed in WWII.  Some things were removed before the Nazis came to take it but other things were lost.  It seemed to be the biggest palace we've seen yet.  The bling was quite impressive- you could have worn shades it was so sparkley.  After working our way through the rooms open to the public we headed to Hofbrauhaus for an afternoon drink (there's one in Rosemont now so you can go there and pretend you're here with me).  For a non-drinker it's still fun to see what they look like and hear people comparing the beers from the different breweries.  The coke tasted the same at all of them :)   in some cases the coke costs more than the beer!
