Was sad to leave Italy today. We took our luggage on the ferry to the other side of Lake Como to meet up with our favorite driver, Sylvain. He is usually our bus driver and is a wonderful member of our traveling family.
Today's travels took a lot of bus time. I think it was almost 5 1/2 hours (not in one long shot-we stopped to pick up lunch food and then for our picnic lunch later.) The lull of the bus can tire even the most awake person. I awoke will a little drool so I must have succumbed at some point. We drove through the Italian Alps to the Swiss pass via the St. Gottard Pass. It involved a lot of tunnels through the mountain. The longest tunnel was 12 miles long! So many times along the drive you'd hear "Look at that!" "Oh, isn't that beautiful?" Pictures do no justice to the beauty we witnessed today. God was a master painter when he created these scenes! Our ending point was Lauterbrunnen. After hauling our suitcases up the the stairs to the third floor, we found that we had a view of the breathtaking waterfall! (It made up for the lumber yard and houses right next to us :). My friends and I hauled our cookies to the waterfall and didn't turn away when we say the path up. We made it up the path and up the steps built into the mountain to be able to be behind the waterfall. SO COOL (literally and figuratively). That's something I've never done before! It was great.

Took us FOREVER to get along Lake Como to the Autoban.
George's house is the white one....Clooney that is :)
