Not many pictures today because of the long bus time and 1 stop, but enjoy.

The drive from Wales to where we needed to be in England was about 3 hours. That meant neck pillow out and ipod on. There's something about the movement of the bus that makes me want to close my eyes! We stopped for a lovely picnic lunch (well after we got the groceries). I continued to be the "bread person" but since I was on my own others took up the role of "juice person" and "condiment person". After our picnic we headed to the remains of Hadrian's Wall. It's a Roman structure begun in 122 AD by the Emperor Hadrian. It stretches 75 Roman miles from coast to coast. It measured at 10 ft tall but now it is much shorter and has even disappeared in places because people used the stone for other things. There were even little castles every mile that had a handful of people to protect it and the walls. We hiked a little but the rain and steep steps proved too much for some so we were going to head to a museum with some Roman artifacts. Unfortunately tiny roads don't make easy travel for large coach buses so after trying numerous routes unsuccessfully we just headed to the hotel. It was a little tricky to find but turned out to be quite a gem. Lovely, flowering baskets outside. Spacious room w/a great bathroom and quick wifi. "Brilliant". Too bad it's just for 1 night.

Think they had this walkway so the sheep wouldn't get out but people could get in.
Looming stormy sky
ame of town where we say the wall : ) There was also one called "Twice Brewed" nearby.
