So long Santorini (sniff, sniff) hello Crete

We spent the morning packing and wandering around Santorini until we had to leave at 3. Not necessarily enough time to seek out things to do in the neighboring towns of Fira, so we just strolled, helped the economy and had a leisurely lunch. Before we left we got a drink to cool us down (still in the heatwave of upper 90s- I've been 'glistening' a lot )It had these little flavor bubbles (balls) that would burst in your mouth. Not sure if I enjoyed it. Waiting for the ferry was super hot. It was late and we were packed like sardines. The ferry itself was very nice. Like airplane seating but comfy and roomy. Time seemed to fly and then we arrived in Crete. Our taxi guy has done this a time or two. He got our plentiful luggage in his regular trunk- kinda. No room for me to sit so I had to ride with another random couple in a taxi tot the hotel. The hotel is supper nice (I keep calling it Olive Garden instead of Olive Green) Doesn't really have a bathroom though. Had a small room with a toilet. Shower is in the corner of the room. Interesting.......We had a great dinner.  Luckily we had a reservation because they were turning people away. Food was great but we had too much leftovers because we didn't realize how much we got. Felt a little guilty with all the leftovers. Can't wait to see what Crete has to offer tomorrow!

You can walk up the zig zag walkway from the old port to town or ride a donkey. (We didn't do either). There's also a cable car.
